POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Property Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This role will involve managing revenue reports, assisting with lease accounting, and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or finance, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and experience with leases or legal contracts is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for landlords and city partners.
  • Assist with lease accounting activities, including processing rent payments and performing reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with accounting leaders and development teams to accurately record lease documentation.
  • Maintain accurate lease records in lease management software.
  • Assist with the maintenance of ASC 842 lease schedules.
  • Review Critical Date reports and provide updates to internal partners, ensuring necessary actions are taken.
  • Assist in accrual calculations and manage accounts payable subledgers.
  • Contribute to ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Support external and internal audit requests.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or finance.
  • Experience with leases or legal contracts is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter who works independently and efficiently.
